U8/U9 Academy

Our U8/U9 Academy is for soccer players born in 2015 (U8) & 2014 (U9).

The objective for our Academy is to foster a positive learning environment that nurtures peer socialization, sportsmanship, and creativity. The curriculum is designed to produce players that have sound technical skills, confidence, coordination, and a passion for the beautiful game. In addition to your child’s weekly practice schedule there will also be games held on Saturdays in one of two leagues (Youth League or Select League).

Parents of players will have the option to notify us during registration by choosing “Select League” or “Youth League” as your preferred league of interest.

Youth League:
 For Beginners & Experienced players

The Youth League format is well suited for a wide range of ages and experience levels. From beginners that are just picking up the sport to experienced players who love to play but prefer to participate in league format that offers flexible attendance on game days (great for multi-sport athletes that are juggling busy schedules). Youth League  participants are assigned a specific start time and location for games on Saturdays based off of their age division. u6/u7 Teams are randomized each Saturday by the coaching staff after the pre-game warmup. A variety of factors are put into consideration by the coaching staff when dividing the player into groups each game day (friend requests, experience, athleticism) but the ultimate objective is to create parity on every field. If a player is overwhelmed or dominating in the group that they are assigned to then we simply move them over to a new field that matches their level of play. We will be rostering our u8/u9 players this spring, which is new for us in the Youth League, but we know our older players are ready for a set team. We still want this league to be flexible for families, so ask that players are flexible about changing teams to keep teams even and fair.

Youth League Games will played at Camels Back on Saturdays.

Required (for both leagues):

Cleats

Water Bottle

Shin Guards

Academy Uniform-We have new uniforms Spring 2023, but older orange uniforms may be worn

Select League: Ideal for technical or skilled/advanced players

The Select League format is well suited for experienced players that are passionate and confident on the field of play. Players are assigned to a specific team roster for Select League games on Saturdays but are still free to choose which days/times/locations they’d like to practice at during the week in our Academy with our staff coaches. Parent volunteers will coach on game day.  Our We require a higher commitment level on game day attendance for players that participate in the Select League due to each team having a limited number of available players assigned to each roster. Players should be willing to practice with a ball at home for 15-20 minutes per day. Games will be played on Saturdays but location and times may vary. Select players will need to purchase an additional uniform.

U7/U8 Select Division
For soccer players born in 2016 & 2015. Players will practice once a week with our Academy/Staff Coaches and will practice once a week with their team lead by their parent volunteer coach.

School of Soccer u9- Pre-Competitive League
*Please note the separate registration link for this League

This fall we offered a pre-competitive league for our U9 players, born in 2014. The objective of the  Pre-Competitive League was to prepare our players physically and mentally to play competitively in our North Boise Futbal Club as u10s and beyond. Our u9 teams will be playing competively this spring. Please click here if you are interested in a spot on a team. Players should be soccer-centric and ready to work on advanced skills, positions, and game tactics. Your player will practice twice a week with a staff SOS coach and play in competitive games. This league is designed for players that are committed to soccer for the spring, and will prioritize practices and games over other sports and obligations due to the limited rosters. Players must have soccer experience, good sportsmanship and a growth mind set.
